Maris Projects B.V. is in 2007 gestart met een onderzoek op kleine schaal op de bedrijfslocatie in het eigen laboratorium om een systeem voor de algenreactor te ontwikkelen. Dit onderzoek was gericht op het realiseren van een optimale en kosteneffectieve manier van algenteelt te realiseren. Aan de hand van het resultaat van dit onderzoek is Maris Projects B.V. van start gegaan met een vervolgstap in het onderzoek.

The Scientific Counsel for Government Policy (WRR) in the Netherlands presented their advise to boost National Innovation; give much more attention to small innovative companies. The Financial Daily (FD) interviewed Ruben van Maris who´s innovative company Maris Projects BV is nominated by the Dutch Government as ´be in the lead´. Ruben is a supporter of Free Development Zones which stimulate innovation.

Maris Projects developed the bio gas production facility at OMR (BEWA-Group). On January 2005 we started to build the anaerobic digester. In the same year it delivered heat and electricity to the grid. The digester uses leftovers from restaurants. Besides maintenance Maris´ still concerned with improving the total process for higher economic return for our client (http://www.bewagroep.nl/).
